Clinical Psychology Department
The Department of Clinical Psychology of Affiliated Hangzhou First People's Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine founded in 2001, and the Clinical Psychology Department ward was set up in 2007. To date, the staff members of Clinical Psychology Department consist of 12 doctors, 2 medical technicians and 10 nurses. Among them, there are 8 experts with senior professional titles, 3 with doctor’s degree.
In the beginning, with the strong support of the hospital leader, Jianrong Teng, it was officially established as an independent specialty of a tertiary A general hospital. Soon afterwards, director Shunquan Zhang established the psychological examination room to provide psychological assessment work. In 2005, Jian Xie as the director of the Clinical Psychology Department, set up its ward, and opened 30 beds on the eighth floor of the fourth building. Since 2011, psychiatric liaison and consultation workshops was held every year, focusing on the co-treatment of physical and mental diseases. Since 2017, the “Xinqing Ward” Project has been carried out throughout the hospital to provide psychological support for patients with combined mental illness. At present, the Clinical Psychology Department has developed into a peak subject for the diagnosis and treatment of mental disease in Hangzhou.
Currently, the Clinical Psychology Department runs a general outpatient service, a specialized outpatient service, psychological consultation outpatient service, sleeping disorders outpatient service, child and adolescent psychological counseling outpatient service and so on. In 2020, there were more than 40,000 patients using outpatient service.
The department offers comprehensive consultation, diagnosis, and treatment services for patients with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, insomnia, organic mental disorder, dementia, etc., through the comprehensive biological-psychological-social treatment model. Provide psychological counseling and psychotherapy for marriage, family, employment, and learning difficulties. The department has an independent computerized psychological examination room, including intelligent examinations for all ages, personality examinations, mental status assessments, social function tests and children's attention tests, etc.; professional psychotherapy, including hypnotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, morita therapy, family therapy, etc.; equipped with domestic advanced repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulator (rTMS), IVA test assessment system, WL-HA-2 brainwave therapeutic apparatus, VBFB3000 multi-functional biofeedback treatment system.
