Neurology Department

The Department of Neurology, Affiliated Hangzhou First People’s Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine has been a key specialty of Hangzhou Health Bureau since 2001. It has a high reputation and advanced discipline level in the province, especially in the diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular disease, which is the most common cause of death and disability in China. The department has its own characteristics in the diagnosis and treatment of common and frequently-occurring neurological diseases such as acute cerebrovascular disease, epilepsy and Parkinson's disease, and also has a high standard in the diagnosis and treatment of difficult and critically ill patients in neurology and related departments. At present, the Department of Neurology has 127 beds, 23 doctors and 37 nurses. A stroke unit and specialized intensive care unit are established. There are 9 beds in the ICU, which are supervised by nurses 24 hours a day and doctors are responsible for it. The advanced nervous monitoring system has been introduced.
