Pain Department of Affiliated Hangzhou First People's Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine was founded in 1989. It was one of the earliest units to open pain diagnosis and treatment in Zhejiang Province. In 2011, it set up a pain ward. Now there are 9 beds open and more than 500 patients are admitted each year, including more than 400 cases of minimally invasive surgery. The department is equipped with advanced pain diagnosis and treatment equipment such as spinal endoscopic system, radio frequency therapeutic apparatus, ozone therapeutic apparatus, plasma therapeutic apparatus, pain treatment platform, shock wave therapeutic apparatus and so on. Mainly carry out spinal endoscopic cervical, thoracic and lumbar disc herniation nucleotomy, low-temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation; radiofrequency treatment of trigeminal neuralgia and postherpetic neuralgia; morphine pump implantation for advanced cancer pain; thoracolumbar sympathetic nerve block for hyperhidrosis, diabetic foot and vascular occlusive disease; shock wave and silver needle treatment of tendon and soft tissue diseases; Ozone auto-blood infusion therapy, etc. The department is centered on minimally invasive intervention, which is at an advanced level in Zhejiang Province.

With comprehensive technology, it is one of the few units in Zhejiang Province that can proficiently carry out cervical, thoracic and lumbar spinal endoscopy at the same time. It is in the leading position in Zhejiang Province in the diagnosis and treatment of neuropathic pain (such as trigeminal neuralgia, postherpetic neuralgia).
