Department Introduction

 

The Urological Department of Hangzhou First People’s Hospital  was founded in the early 1950s. After nearly 70 years of development, it has now become is the strongest urological department among Hangzhou municipal hospitals

There are 53 beds and 17 clinicians, including 5 chief physicians, 5 associate chief physicians, 7 doctors, and 5 masters. They can complete all standard operations and treatments within the scope of the specialty . They always maintain the advanced ranks of similar specialties in China.

There are two medical centers: Hangzhou Minimally Invasive Treatment Center for Urinary Stones and Prostate Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center.

 

Academic status

 

As one of the most powerful urology units in Hangzhou, it has two medical centers: Hangzhou Minimally Invasive Treatment Center for Urinary Calculus and Hangzhou Prostate Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center. It also undertakes the teaching and clinical practice tasks of Zhejiang University, Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Hangzhou Normal University, Wenzhou Medical University and other universities. It is one of the national standardized training bases for residents at the same time.

The Department of Urology, Hangzhou First People's Hospital is the vice chairman unit of the Urology Branch of Zhejiang Medical Association and the chairman unit of the Urology Branch of Hangzhou Medical Association.

There are 2 members of the National Medical Association; 2 deputy chairmen or deputy group leaders of the provincial medical association, and 19 members or young members;3 directors or group leaders of the municipal medical association, 3 deputy directors or deputy group leaders, and 8 members or youth committees.

Minimally invasive treatment of urinary calculus

The rate of minimally invasive treatment of calculus in the kidneys, ureters, and bladder has reached more than 99%. PCNL, flexible ureteroscopy and other technologies have been advanced in China, and more patients can avoid the pain of open surgery. In recent years, ultra-micro and ultra-fine PCNL, calculus removal systems, and stone ejectment systems have also been introduced to provide patients with more treatment options. Laparoscopic surgeries that have been carried out include: Cyst of Kinney removal and decompression, ureterectomy and lithotripsy, ureteral stenosis resection and plasty, adrenal tumor resection, partial nephrectomy, radical nephrectomy, pyeloplasty, radical prostatectomy, Total cystectomy, posterior peritoneal lymph node dissection and other operations have achieved very good clinical results, and they are the key guarantee and continuous development projects of urology.

 

Comprehensive treatment of urinary system tumors

Surgical treatment of urinary tract tumors such as renal cancer, bladder cancer, and prostate cancer has always been our department's strengths and minimally invasive surgery can be performed if the condition permits. The patient has little pain and quick recovery after surgery. At the same time, it cooperates closely with the Wushan branch courts, integrating radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy and other treatment methods, so that tumor treatment is both comprehensive and individualized.
