The Cardiothoracic Department has 43 beds, and is the strongest cardiothoracic department among Hangzhou municipal hospitals. It is also an important part of Hangzhou Cancer Center. The department has thirteen doctors, all the doctors have experienced domestic and abroad study or training, and some have been employed as visiting professors and have long-term medical exchanges.
For a long time, we are committing to the treatments for chest wall, trachea, lung, esophagus, mediastinum, cardiac diseases and great vessels, as well as related basic researches. Over 10,000 major operations have been performed now, most of which are complicated and difficult surgeries.
We adopt professional, standard, scientific refined and individualized surgeries as the main treatment for lung cancer, and meanwhile we stress to cleanse the lymphatic system, check up the lung cancer at an early stage and stop smoking so as to survive longer. We have a good record in curing lung and esophageal malignant diseases.
In recent years, we have kept up with the international trend to perform thoracic surgery through one port、two-port、three-port VATS. Five hundred thoracic surgeries are performed annually. About 60% of surgeries were performed under VATS. And more than 800 surgeries are expected to perform in the coming years. We do our best to provide the best treatment and keep a good record of zero medical negligence.
The Cardiac Surgery has also made great achievement in coronary surgery cardiac valvular plasty and replacement, surgical treatment for adult congenital heart disease and atrial fibrillation, great vessel surgery, redo-cardiac surgery, minimal invasive surgery for cardiac diseases.
We have successfully completed more than 10 scientific research projects and have published more than 20 articles in SCI journals. And we have established close contact with domestic and oversea famous thoracic surgery centers. The younger doctors will be regularly assigned to study in above centers so as to promote further development.
